Billy Adams was sitting pretty well after he was released and acquitted of murder charges.

He was set to begin his life over with his pregnant girlfriend, except he decided to kill her and the unborn baby.

Tampa law enforcement arrested Billy Adams and charged him with murder again in the slaying of Alana Sims and the baby. A second child was discovered inside the vehicle after Sims was killed.

The New York Post reported that “Adams, 25, was found not guilty of killing two men on Jan. 27, just a few days before he allegedly killed Sims, who investigators said was the father of the unborn child.”

Lee Bercaw is the Interim Police Chief for Tampa. He stated, “I hope this arrest brings some closure to the victim’s family who is mourning the loss of two loved ones. We are working with the State Attorney’s Office to ensure the suspect is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

The horrific murder scene is just one of several that law enforcement believes the killer is guilty of. The jury in his first trial acquitted him of all charges. But this time, prosecutors are coming after him with the full extent of the law.

Susan Lopez, the State Attorney on the case, stated, “While we respect the verdict of the jury in the prior case, we disagreed with it and that is why we prosecuted him. We will continue to work with (Tampa police) to prosecute him for these latest crimes.”

Adams was interviewed by the police and did not show any emotion for the death of his girlfriend and unborn child. The New York Post reported that the detectives on the case questioned Adams about the shooting and reported that he was emotionless during the questioning period.
