Zoe Rose Bryant, an entertainment journalist, expressed her opinion on Twitter that "the same industry that’s patting itself on the back tonight for making Kim Petras the first trans woman to win pop duo/group performance at the #Grammys also gave Dave Chappelle another Grammy for his transphobic special 'The Closer' so it’s nice to see hypocrisy is alive & well."

Sigh."

Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, spoke to the Hollywood Reporter about Dave Chappelle and Louis C.K.'s nominations, saying that the organization has no control over which creators are voted for. He stated that it is not their job to evaluate a person's morality, but rather the quality of their art. Mason Jr. concluded that the decision for awards and nominations is left to the voters.

Both the Associated Press and Variety retracted accusations that a Chappelle supporter was the perpetrator of the Netflix Walkout.
Chappelle declared “I am not bending to anybody's demands." At the same time, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos also opposed taking down "The Closer," asserting that "content on screen doesn't directly translate to real-world harm."
