For the second night, a massive fight at an NBA game led to embarrassing headlines for the players. Two players exchanged punches during the game, and the fight quickly spilled out onto the court. It all started when one player approached another. When Austin Rivers walked up to him, Bamba sat on the Orlando bench. Bamba stood up from the bench. The ball was still in play as the two began to fight. Jalen Suggs pulled Rivers back, but soon other players joined in the fight. According to Fox News, “Suggs and Bamba of Orlando were ejected, while Rivers, Jaden McDaniels, and Taurean Prince of Minnesota were thrown from the game.” [tweet_embed]February 07, 2023[/tweet_embed] Although it started in the third quarter, Rivers said it began before the third quarter even started. According to Rivers, Bamba was running his mouth from the bench, which is why he walked up to him. Per Fox News, “‘I’m not gonna snitch on the dude or whatever, but I just didn’t like how he was talking to me,” Rivers said after the game. “For no reason, too. I don’t even know that dude. I don’t know anything about him. I know he’s a player for the Magic. And he proceeded to talk, so that next possession, when I went down there, I just said, pretty much, ‘Just keep it respectful, bro.’” [tweet_embed]February 07, 2023[/tweet_embed] He said that was when Bamba threw the first punch. However, he missed. Soon after, Suggs grabbed him by his neck. Rivers said that the fight wasn’t how he wanted things to happen. He said that he looks at himself as a leader and is embarrassed now. Rivers also takes the loss that night personally because he feels like he played a part in that situation. This is the second game where an NBA fight has landed a player in hot water. Previously, Donovan Mitchell and Dillon Brooks were both ejected from a game for a similar reason.
