The man was muscular with tattoos and a shaved head, so there was nothing feminine about this guy. However, he suddenly transitioned when he faced a trial for raping two women. Adam is now Isla Bryson and will be locked up with other women.

When the defendant was first in court, she was a man named Adam. Court documents refer to the defendant by that name. However, later he transitioned into Isla. Isla claims she knew she was trans when she was four but waited to transition. Isla denied the allegations, saying that she would never hurt anyone else. However, prosecutors could prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she did over the six-day trial. The crimes, one of which was in 2016 and another that was in 2019, both happened in Scotland.

She’s currently being held in Cornton Vale women’s prison but is segregated from the other women. She is taking hormones and wants gender reassignment surgery.

However, no one knows where Isla will serve her sentence. She’s supposed to undergo a risk assessment to determine whether she should serve her sentence at a men’s or women’s prison.

Many are questioning whether she would remain in segregation if sentenced to a women’s prison, which they say is a clear violation of her rights.

However, critics don’t care. Russell Findlay, a member of the Scottish Parliament, said, “We now have the utterly perverse situation where a Scottish court refers to someone who says he identifies as female using ‘her penis’ to rape two vulnerable women. We warned of the inevitability of this happening if the SNP’s gender self-ID law passed, but for it to have become a reality is deeply worrying and an insult to the victims.”

Another spoke out against convicted rapists being placed in a population of vulnerable women. According to Fox News, “To many people, it will look like this convicted rapist has gamed the system to try and garner sympathy and to end up in a women’s prison,” Joanna Cherry, a Scottish politician who chairs the Joint Committee on Human Rights, told Times Radio. “Women in prison are very vulnerable. Many women in prison have been abused and have suffered injuries over the years. I’m very concerned about the safety of women prisoners, with whom a convicted rapist has been placed.”

The fact is, this person was not a woman until they were in court facing rape charges. They want to be placed in a women’s prison and have managed to game the system to find more victims. It’s disturbing that this is a reality for women in Scotland.
