A California teacher named Olivia Garrison is bragging about helping children change their gender without their parent’s knowledge or consent.

Fox News Digital discovered that Garrison worked at Del Oro High School, located in the Kern High School District as a 9th-grade history teacher. This teacher worked on the transitioning social process for children interested in potentially transitioning to a new gender.

Those children needed only to tell Garrison their interest in changing the social constructs around their names and identities. Students who did that would receive help from Garrison to start to work on the transitioning process.

The New York Times reported, “Olivia Garrison, a history teacher in Bakersfield, California, who is nonbinary, has helped students socially transition at school without their parent’s knowledge.” Garrison even spoke with the Times and said: “My job, which is a public service, is to protect kids. Sometimes, they need protection from their parents.”

She did not immediately respond to a request for comment when Fox News Digital reached out. The report even made liberal parents angry because they were concerned the District was boxing them out of how they wanted to raise their children because of Garrison’s actions. They feel like Garrison was making decisions they would prefer to make on their own accord.

The District Garrison works for also blocks parents from learning if their child is going through a social transition. Fox News reports that the District has a pronoun change request form that students can fill out without their parent’s permission if they wish to do so. The District stated the following: “Please complete the Request for Name Change/Gender Marker form and submit it to your site principal. A parent signature is not required to submit the form.”

Garrison is just one of many teachers in the District who are actively working on concealing the transition process from parents who might be curious about what is going on with their children.

Fox News Digital also uncovered that a Maryland teacher named Lane Cogdill was bragging on TikTok about helping students conceal their identities and transitioning status from their parents. According to the school’s website, Cogdill works at the Silver Spring International Middle School in the Montgomery County Public Schools District and uses the pronouns ze/zir, they/them, and he/him pronouns. It is a growing trend that is concerning for many parents.
