However, one has to sympathize with the passengers of an American Airlines flight taxiing at Miami International Airport last November. According to American Wire News, football free agent and Super Bowl champ Odell Beckham Jr. decided to have a meltdown in the middle of the cabin.

Beckham took off his pants and started shouting profanity at the passengers and crew. He told the flight crew that he had been clubbing all night and was still recovering. Police speculated that the athlete may have still been drunk, on pills, or both.

He called one passenger “fat” and “ugly.” About then, the flight attendants feared that he would deteriorate in the air. So the crew decided to taxi to the gate and summon the police.

The police officers decided that all passengers had to deplane along with Beckham. Unfortunately, the football player’s rage continued as the passengers walked off the plane. He told one who had said something that angered him, “Shut the f*** up.”

So far, Beckham has not suffered any consequences for his misbehavior. His lawyer claimed that he had fallen asleep and the flight attendant who woke him up had blown things out of proportion. Nevertheless, his meltdown caused the flight to be delayed an hour and a half.

TMZ reports that Beckham is unrepentant about the incident. In several tweets, he laid into his detractors. He tweeted, “Can’t address everything in this world, it’s exhausting,” Beckham wrote. “Errbody got an opinion on situations they weren’t involved in. All u can do is kno who u truly are. Purell only kills 99.9% of germs… there’s always gon be a lil left over.”

He also tweeted, “The one thing that no matter how much I’ve grown is still the hardest thing for me to do. Is let someone play wit my name. Period.
