Fox Sports reporter Allison Williams is a former employee of ESPN who is suing the parent company of the network (Disney) over the fact that the company terminated her in the past for refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine.

The New York Post reports that Williams and former producer Beth Faber filed a joint lawsuit on Wednesday, claiming that both ESPN and Disney violated their religious beliefs.

The two filed an 83-page complaint in a Connecticut court, claiming that Williams applied for an “exemption from vaccination on the grounds of disability.” She claimed a disability because she was undergoing in vitro fertilization.

The lawsuit reads in part:

“[Williams] informed Defendants in writing that she was a Christian and that she sincerely held and heartfelt religious beliefs prohibited her from being vaccinated.”

She allegedly told her employer that she did not want to get the vaccine because of a bad reaction from a previous vaccine taken when she was 12 years old.

Even though this reporter agreed to regular testing and stated that she had some natural immunity to the virus because she had contracted it before, the network still decided their best option was to pressure her to get the vaccine.

Williams stated that ESPN denied her the chance to advance her career with ESPN because she didn’t comply with the vaccine requirement. She said that she decided to terminate her employment with the company rather than face getting the vaccine.

She wrote a comment on an Instagram video in which she stated:

“I have been denied my request for accommodation by ESPN and The Walt Disney Company, and effective next week, I will [be] separated from the company,”

She continued on her Instagram video saying:

“I’m so morally and ethically not aligned with this. I’ve had to dig deep and analyze my values and my morals. Ultimately, I need to put them first. The irony in all this is the same values and principles I hold so dear are what made me [a really good] employee and probably helped with the success I’ve been able to have in my career.”

Last August, she announced that she planned to move her career to Fox Sports. She claims ESPN denied her religious freedoms when the network did not allow her to decide whether to take the vaccine.
