The holiday season is supposed to be a time of fun and relaxation as people travel to meet up with family and friends.

But when travel plans are interrupted by the abrupt decision of a travel agency, things go from bad to worse in a number of minutes.

Southwest Airlines decided to cancel thousands of flights at the last minute. There was no warning or communication with passengers on their way to the airport. They arrived and found that their flights had been canceled.

The cancelation of the flights was supposedly weather related. But when other airlines do not cancel their flights, people wonder what motivated the company to cancel at the last minute. Bob Jordan is the CEO of Southwest Airlines. He came out of hiding and tried to apologize for the trouble by blaming it all on the weather.

Just the News reported that Jordan said, "This has impacted so many people – many customers – over the holidays. I'm extremely sorry for that. There's just no way almost to apologize enough."

The issue is not the weather but the 15,800 flights that left thousands of people stranded for days. Jordan said, "We're offering refunds, covering expenses. Beyond safety, there is no greater focus at this point than taking care of our customers, reuniting them with their bags, getting refunds processed."

The apology and statement to take care of customers have a lot of unknowns attached to them. People wonder where the customer service was when the flights were canceled at the last moment with no explanation. And there was no attempt to reschedule or delay the planes.

The liberals are having a party with Southwest as politicians are demanding that the airline solve its issues or face monetary fines for failure to operate correctly in the transportation industry.
