Workers at NorthShore University Health System were subjected to communist rules when workers were denied exemptions because of their religious exemptions. Five hundred workers took the matter to court and found that the organization violated their rights.
U.S. District Judge John Kness found that the university had violated the workers’ rights. He awarded them $10.3 million in a settlement that sent a clear message around the country that stepping on people's rights is unacceptable.

Just the News reported that “The class covers NorthShore team members who submitted religious exemption requests between July 1, 2021 and January 1, 2022, were denied exemptions and either took a vaccine to avoid termination or were fired or resigned due to their religious objections.”

The university was vicious in trying to force students and teachers to submit to the COVID-19 rules. They denied people exemptions and terminated anyone that resisted.
Just the News also pointed out, “The order says no class members 'timely opted out’ of the settlement or filed a request for exclusion. The plaintiffs’ lawyers at Liberty Counsel will receive $2.06 million in attorney’s fees, and the 13 class representatives, $20,000 each.”

Those who lost their jobs can apply to work again and keep their seniority. The university did not have the right to dismiss people based on their religious beliefs.

Just the News also reported that “Liberty Counsel said the settlement checks will be sent in 60 days. Employees who were fired can apply for rehire within 90 days, ‘and they will retain their previous seniority level,’ the law firm said. Several have already been rehired, Liberty Counsel said.”
