This Is Embarrassing: Young Adult Men In These Major Cities Are SAFER Going To War Than Roaming Their Own Streets

Leftist cities receive a lot of criticism over their push for no-bail policies and letting criminals roam free.

While the left pushes its radical agenda, Republicans push for responsible policies that involve jail time to keep Americans safe. Now, a study reveals how dangerous two American cities are.

According to The Post Millennial, “In a study published by the JAMA Network, researchers at Brown University and the University of Pennsylvania found that young, military-aged males from ‘zip codes with the most violence in Chicago and Philadelphia had a notably higher risk of firearm-related death than U.S. military personnel who served during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.’”

While these two cities were notably more violent than the others, four cities saw the same results. The Post Millennial says, “While Chicago and Philadelphia were discovered to be areas where young males are more likely to be shot dead, researchers found during the study of 129,826 young adult men living in Chicago, Philadelphia, New York City, and Los Angeles in 2020 and 2021 that ‘the most violent areas in New York City and Los Angeles were associated with less risk for young adult males than these theaters of war.’”

Men in minority ethnic and racial groups carry a significant portion of the risk compared to other males. One researcher points out that black and Hispanic males have 96% of that risk, while non-minority males only carry 4% of the risk. It also notes that this doesn’t apply to every male.

This is alarming, considering that the same number of participants in the study represented both Black and White males. According to Jamane Network, “Of 129 826 young adult males aged 18 to 29 years living in the top 10% most violent zip codes in the 4 cities studied, 45 725 (35.2%) were Black, 71 005 (54.7%) were Hispanic, and 40 355 (31.1%) were White.”

Brandon del Pozo was one of the researchers on the team that led the study. He details the findings in a Twitter thread and makes an excellent point. Per Post Millenial, “He stated that ‘Chicago’s firearm violence led residents to call it Chiraq.”

While many will see the shocking statistics concerning, we can all expect Democrats to continue to bury their heads in the sand as they push their failing policies.
