For the first time in quite a while, COVID-19 rates are up again.

Many believe this is evidence of widespread infections, and action must be taken.

Just The News says, “For the first time in months, California’s 7-day COVID-19 test positivity rate reached 10.8% over the last week, indicating the increased spread of the virus as state officials report a rise in COVID-19 hospitalizations.”

Although the positivity rate is lower than it was a year ago, the state expresses concerns over hospitalization. Per Just The News, “While the current positivity rate is still significantly lower than the positivity rate during the peak of last year’s winter surge, health officials are warning that the state is already seeing an uptick in hospitalizations. ”

“As of Friday, 3,793 were hospitalized for COVID-19 in California, according to CDPH. During the last winter surge in January, the number of patients hospitalized with the virus in a single day peaked at nearly 15,500.”

Counties in California all go by a COVID-19 policy. It involves determining whether a county is at the low, medium, or high level based on the positivity rate, hospitalizations, and such.

Now that some counties are at a medium level, those in charge are discussing instituting an indoor mask policy, one of the methods used to contain the spread of COVID-19 in high-risk areas. They say that it will be a targeted approach to stop COVID-19.

However, it should also be noted that the evidence regarding the death rate, etc., has not changed. Liberal states like California use every opportunity they can to take control of citizens and order them around. COVID-19 is just one more tool that they use to do that. It wasn’t OK during the early stages of the pandemic, and it’s not OK now. We have a right to choose whether we want to wear a mask.
