As fuel prices surge and a nationwide diesel shortage makes headlines, the Biden Administration continues to attack the oil industry.

Now, his EPA holds up oil production despite Americans’ national crisis.

The Daily Caller reports, “The Environmental Protection Agency announced on Thursday that a huge idled refinery in the U.S. Virgin Islands will not be allowed to open. It will remain closed until the owners acquire a new Clean Air Act permit. This news comes amid a national diesel shortage.”

The article continues, “The St. Croix refinery is shut down as of June 2021. According to the EPA press release, the refinery is required to obtain a Prevention of Significant Deterioration permit. This permit will require the operators to provide extremely detailed air quality analyses. They will be required to use sophisticated air pollution control technology.”

The United States has under a month of diesel gas in commercial inventories. Also, diesel is over $1.50 more than a year ago.

Understandably, someone needs to investigate this single plant. According to The Washington Post, “The idled plant in St. Croix, formerly known as the Limetree Bay refinery, experienced multiple accidents over last year that spewed noxious fumes and showered oil droplets onto surrounding homes, sending some residents to emergency rooms.” On the other hand, this isn’t the only plant impacted by Biden.

Biden openly criticizes oil companies for not producing enough, while his EPA stops them. According to The Daily Caller, “President Joe Biden has accused fuel producers of ‘war profiteering,’ claiming they refuse to increase refining capacity amid global fuel shortages. According to Biden, fuel shortages were exacerbated by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. However, in June, Biden’s EPA rescinded exemptions that would have allowed nearly 70 small-volume refiners to avoid blending renewable biofuels into diesel. According to an agency docket, this was despite refiners claiming the move would increase costs and decrease output.”
