One candidate for the Senate wants to put an end to China owning America’s farms.

A new ad features Ohio Republican Senate candidate J. D. Vance vowing to end China buying United States farmland. The ad shows him standing in a farmer’s field, saying:.

“Why are food and groceries getting so expensive? One reason is that we let Communist China buy up American farmland, threatening our food supply and [our] national security. Tim Ryan and Joe Biden make this worse. Ohio gave a poor kid like me a fighting chance. But, it won’t work for the next generation unless we protect what’s ours.”

The ad ends with the words of J.D. Vance stating, “America should belong to Americans, not our enemies!”

Republican J.D. Vance is campaigning against Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) for Ohio’s open United States Senate seat. Vance stands up for America, owning its acreages of farms across the nation. Meanwhile, Ryan seems to show little to no concern for American farmers.

This year, Ryan voted to pass the Biden Administration's proposed Inflation Reduction Act with no concern for protecting American farmland from China.

According to Breitbart, a 2019 analysis shows about half a million acres of farmland in Ohio owned by foreign investors. The primary investors, according to Breitbart, are China, Germany, and the Netherlands.

In 2021, Chinese investors bought $6.1 billion worth of homes and land across America, per Breitbart, including 300 acres in North Dakota near the local United States Air Force Base. Also, the latest United States Department of Agriculture USDA figures show that Chinese investors’ holdings of American farmland went up significantly.

In 2010, the report shows, foreign owners of American farmlands held 13,720 acres. The 2010 figure rose drastically in 2020, with 352,140 acres owned by foreign investors. More than 37 million acres of United States farmland are currently in foreign investors’ hands.
