Selah Marley appeared in Kanye’s controversial fashion show, which made headlines thanks to his white Lives Matter t-shirt.

Candace Owens appeared alongside him, wearing a matching shirt. After these photos appeared, Selah Marley had a few thought-provoking words that many found hard to hear.

According to Hollywood Life, “Selah, whose grandfather was famed musician Bob Marley, expanded on her thoughts and how she felt that the so-called ‘hive mind mentality’ contributed to the backlash directed at the 808s And Heartbreak rapper’s show.

‘You do what the group tells you to do and think what the same group tells you to think. Merely witnessing someone break free from the agenda sends you all into a panic. You will do anything it takes to force them back into the box that you feel they should exist in. All morality and empathy are eliminated because you feel justified by your emotions. The victim becomes the victimizer,’ she wrote.”

Selah states that critics can’t silence her. Her response to critics isn’t the only thing she posted, though.

Hollywood Life says, “Besides her response to critics, Selah also posted a screenshot of a text that she sent to Kanye. She asked him to continue the conversation and ‘discuss the depth behind our decisions and provide healing to our community,’ seemingly referencing the backlash to the shirts. Yeezy reshared the Instagram Story on his account.”

Kanye has received an intense amount of backlash for several things. Previously, Kanye West said slavery was a choice and commented that he felt Black Lives Matter was a scam. These both came before the controversial shirts.

Black Lives Matter attempts to educate Kanye by saying, “[Black Lives Matter is] a rallying cry across the Diaspora for injustices in our communities. It serves as a reminder that across the country, Black people continue to be murdered, mistreated, beaten, and broken down by a deeply rooted white supremacist agenda,” they wrote in a Twitter thread. “Twisting and convoluting this pillar by changing it to ‘White Lives Matter’ disregards our ancestors and the freedom fighters before us.”
