According to Western Journal, tennis players Stefanos Tsitsipas and Diego Schwartzman were preparing to start a match at the Laver Cup in London when a man wearing a t-shirt that read “End UK Private Jets” walked out onto the court.

He sat down and set his arm on fire as a public protest.

Then, the man, presumed by the media to be a climate activist, wished he had not set his arm on fire, discovering what most people know that fire hurts. He screamed and put his arm out. Security rushed forward immediately and marched him off the court.

No one is certain whether the man wanted to set his arm on fire or whether he wanted to set the court on fire. An organization calling itself “End UK Private Jets” tweeted. “BREAKING NEWS Kai, 20, set their arm on fire at #LaverCup The liveable climate of our planet is collapsing. No one is taking it seriously. Is humanity not worth saving? Let’s get into resistance against this death machine. #EndUKPrivateJets.”

The incident at the Laver Cup was not the first time someone has set himself on fire to protest climate change. “Climate change extremists have set themselves on fire in political statements before. A 50-year-old man died after immolating himself in front of the Supreme Court in April.”

People Magazine noted that a reporter spotted the Laver Cup protestor lying on the ground next to a media restroom soon after the incident. Metropolitan Police later arrested him on the charge of aggravated trespass.

Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer organized the Laver Cup Tennis Tournament as his final professional competition before retirement. Later, Federer was scheduled to play in the final match of his career, doubles match alongside Rafael Nadal. He sat courtside when the climate protestor set his arm on fire.
