Kanye West has been very outspoken about wanting to Make America Great Again. He recently stood up to Adidas by breaking off his deal with them for the Yeezy line.

Ye said it was a “day of liberation” when he stood up to the company. According to The Daily Wire, he wants to “bring industry back to America” and that it’s possible with the factories he’s buying in California.

Earlier this year, Ye made headlines when he announced that the Yeezy Foam Runner would be made in the United States using natural materials.

West made another big business move to advance his goal. It seems he’s parted ways with The Gap, according to Billboard. His lawyers sent the retailer a letter outlining how it breached the agreement with Ye. His lawyers claim the retailer didn’t release products as they had agreed to.

The first Yeezy item released was a hoodie, but it wasn’t in stores. It was only made available on the company’s website. The deal between Ye and The Gap was supposed to include 40% off Yeezy Gap items sold in retail stores.

Ye calling off the deal with The Gap doesn’t mean the merchandise will be pulled off shelves. The Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga will reportedly continue being sold in stores. That line is reportedly going to be a hot commodity this holiday season.

It doesn’t appear that West will let the splits with these companies impact his ability to get apparel to consumers. He’s reportedly going to open his own stores to get his merchandise out. If he stays true to his word about wanting to “Make America Great Again,” the luxury apparel industry will change considerably in the upcoming years.
