Ordering food for delivery isn’t anything new. Companies like DoorDash make it easy for consumers to get just about any food items and some convenience items right to their door.

As DoorDash expands, it adds new restaurants and stores to its offerings. One subsidiary of DoorDash called DashMart offers shoppers convenience foods and some grocery deliveries.

Recently, a TikTok user named Marina came forward claiming that the Dasher who delivered her DashMart order left a passive-aggressive note in her order.

The woman and her girlfriend ordered Dr. Pepper, Cheetos, and a box of Delimex taquitos. She found a note from the Dasher in the delivery that said, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” and included an apple in the delivery.

Marina says that her girlfriend can’t eat apples, “so the rude gesture doesn’t apply.” She said that she took the note as “fatphobic” and that it was uncalled for by a delivery person.

Followers of Marina were appalled at the audacity of the Dasher. One noted that it wouldn’t have taken any effort just to leave the note out. Other comments followed that same thought.

DoorDash is seemingly trying to sweep the incident under the rug. While the incident is being investigated, a spokesperson notes that it’s routine for thank you notes to be included in the orders from DashMart. They went on to say that it was a mixup and that the customer received the wrong note. They said the note was intended for another order, according to the New York Post.

A thank you note is much different than one that judges the recipient. It’s easy to see how a note like this could be taken as an insult when it’s included in an order that contains only junk food.
