Immigration officials have released an estimated 1.3 million immigrants. Add to that at least one million who have managed to slip past border patrol agents and made their way illegally into the United States.
The cost breakdown estimated by FAIR is $9,232 yearly to support each illegal immigrant.

Many immigrants included in the headcount have previously attempted to enter the United States, making them repeat encounters. The removal of immigrants was to protect public health under Title 42. A significant number were to have an asylum hearing.

Sources from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported to Fox News that over 500,000 “gotaways” entered the United States in 2022 up until July. The 500,000 increased the number of illegal immigrants for the fiscal year of 2021 and fiscal year 2022 to at least 900,000.

The Federation for American Immigration Reform wants stricter border patrols as a more extensive immigration reform program. FAIR also explained how the estimated $20.4 billion could go toward helping Americans.
Their analysis states the $20.4 billion could pay the salary of 330,000 additional teachers, provide grocery vouchers of $410 to families with less than a $50k income, expand and supply funding for the National School Lunch Program, and provide $50k for the next 10 years to the homeless United States military veterans.

The study also noted that $20.4 billion would be enough to build the wall in its entirety at the southern border. This project began when President Trump was in office.
Dan Stein, President of FAIR, is quoted as saying, “Even in an age in which trillion-dollar spending packages are considered modest, the additional $20.4 billion the Biden Border Crisis has heaped onto the backs of American taxpayers is still staggering.”

Mr. Stein also said, ”$20.4 billion could address some critical needs of the American public, instead of covering the costs of the surge of illegal migration triggered by this administration’s policies.”
Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris declared the ‘border is secure’ in an interview with Meet the Press.
While Harris continues to defend the policies of the Biden administration, thousands of illegal immigrants are crossing and have crossed the border into the United States, according to the FAIR study.
