Although Mayor Lightfoot apparently believes that the bussing of immigrants is a problem, it seems she has more going on than that in the Windy City. Things are about to get a lot worse. Chicago is now going to eliminate the cash bail system. Instead, they’ll let criminals facing dangerous charges like homicide, kidnapping, arson, and even murder be released while they await trial.

According to thegatewaypundit.com, these offenses include but are not limited to “second-degree murder, aggravated battery, and arson without bail. They include drug-induced homicide, kidnapping, burglary, robbery, intimidation, aggravated DUI, aggravated fleeing and eluding, drug offenses, and threatening a public official.”

The law, which will go into effect this February, is part of a plan to reform the justice system in the Windy City. Democratic Governor JB Pritzker signed the act into law in February. According to The Gateway Pundit, this is part of “transforming the pretrial detention system, so low-income people aren’t thrown behind bars while the wealthy walk free. Diverting low-level drug crimes into treatment programs and reducing excessive stays in prison is critical."

Keith Pekau, the Republican mayor of Orland Park, pointed out this is dangerous for both victims and communities. He also noted that offenders could quickly flee.

According to The Gateway Pundit, Pekau stated, “Offenders released on electronic monitoring must be in violation for 2 days before law enforcement can act. They can almost drive to Alaska before we can even look for them.”

According to the same news source, he added, “It denies victims their constitutional rights. Remember that businesses and homeowners will no longer have the power to remove trespassers from a residence or business. Someone could decide to live in your shed. All we can do is give them a ticket. You have to decide what level of force is required to remove them. Then, the police have to decide whether or not it’s legal. The law is a massive threat to the residents of Orland Park, Cook County in Illinois.”

According to breitbart.com, “472 people were killed in Chicago from January 1, 2022, through September 10, 2022.” The same source provided information on three fatal shootings just last weekend. However, Democratic politicians believe these murderers should walk free regardless of the danger it poses to the rest of the community.
