Last week, Brittany captioned an Instagram video post criticizing the transitioning of children, “I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life.” The video has over 160,000 likes.
Some liberal country music stars were not amused. “The Voice” winner Cassadee Pope tweeted, “You’d think celebs with beauty brands would see the positive in including LGBTQ+ people in their messaging. But instead, here we are, hearing someone compare their ‘tomboy phase’ to someone wanting to transition. Real nice.”

Singer Maren Morris chimed in with name-calling in reply to Pope, “It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie.” In another mocking post, Morris accused Aldean of being homophobic and transphobic. According to the Daily Wire, Morris was blasted by conservatives for bullying and threatened with boycotts.

Brittany did not back down and posted a lengthy response, saying, “Advocating for the genital mutilation of children under the disguise of love and calling it ‘gender affirming care’ is one of the worst evils.” She emphasized support for her children and protecting their innocence. She alluded that some parents make life-altering decisions because they want “to be accepted by society so badly.” She added, “Love is protecting your child until they are mature enough as an adult to make their own life decisions.”

A friend, Daily Wire host Candace Owens, defended Brittany online, replying to Morris’ Twitter post, “It’s easier to not castrate your children. But I guess whatever helps sell bad records.” Owens then called conservatives to “delete this bully from your playlist.” People magazine reported other supporters of Brittany included her husband, country star RaeLynn, and the wives of Jon Pardi and Shay Mooney.

Social media commentator DC Draino showed a post with the follower count dropping for Morris, while Aldean gained more than 23,000. Owens shared screenshots of others removing Morris from their music playlists.
On Sunday, the “Candace” host told Daily Wire, “America is fighting a cultural disease. Scores of children are facing literal, chemical castration by parents and doctors alike, who have submitted to the social science of transgenderism.” Of Aldean’s stance and support, Candace said, “This is proof that Americans still fight for innocent children. At the end of the day, children are our red line.”
