Rudy Giuliani announced he received a “cordial” reception by the Fulton County district attorney’s office when he testified before a grand jury probing whether former President Donald Trump and his allies attempted to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.

Giuliani, the former mayor and lawyer for Trump, was informed he was a “target” of the criminal probe before he testified in Atlanta last Wednesday.

He announced he received thanks “for my service to the country,” and District Attorney Fani Willis shook his hand.

“I was treated professionally by the district attorney’s office in Fulton County. The DA came out and shook hands with me at the end,” Giuliani explained to John Catsimatidis in an interview on his WABC 770 radio show that aired Sunday.

“The forelady of the grand jury shook hands with me. And they thanked me for my service to the country, even though they had a question. It’s the first time anyone has been cordial in this investigation,” Giuliani announced.

He testified before the grand jury for roughly six hours and refused to comment to reporters regarding his testimony, noting the secrecy of such proceedings.

It was prompted by a phone call Trump made on Jan. 2, 2021, to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, requesting him to “find” the votes that would allow him to pull ahead of Joe Biden in the presidential race.

“All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, one more than we have,” Trump explained to the state’s top election official. “Because we won the state.”

In a petition to the court, Ms. Willis described Ms. Ellis as “an attorney for the Trump Campaign’s legal efforts seeking to influence the results of the November 2020 election in Georgia and elsewhere.”

In the meantime, 11 persons accused of serving as “fake electors” in an attempt to overturn the 2020 Georgia results have requested a judge to disqualify Ms. Willis from the investigation.
