The armed California man arrested outside of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's Maryland home in June after the leaked draft opinion affirming the overturn of Roe v. Wadeidentifies as a transgender woman, according to court filings.

According to court filings, Nicholas John Roske, 26, goes by "Sophie" on Reddit, and is identified as "MtF," or male-to-female. In posts he made under the username "AmericanNick," Roske presented himself with the feminine name and talked about gaming, watching television, and desiring a female partner to cuddle with.

When he saw the marshals, who were standing next to their parked vehicle in the tony Washington, DC, suburb, he walked down the block and called 911 and told an operator he was having “suicidal thoughts,” had a firearm on him and wanted to kill Kavanaugh.

The Montgomery County Police Department arrived on the scene and took Roske into custody before he could carry out the crime, the New York Post reported.
