In another blatant canceling act, YouTube announced Wednesday that Dan Bongino is permanently banned from the video-sharing platform after the popular Conservative commentator announced he would be leaving the platform.

A spokesperson for the platform said the Fox Nation host was permanently banned for violating the terms of service after violating a seven-day ban on his Dan Bongino Show Clip channel, featuring short clips from his radio show, by posting content to his main account, Dan Bongino Show.

“We terminated Dan Bongino’s channels for circumventing our Terms of Service by posting a video while there was an active strike and suspension associated with the account," the spokesperson claimed in a statement to the Washington Examiner. "When a channel receives a strike, it is against our Terms of Service to post content or use another channel to circumvent the suspension."

Bongino's channel, Dan Bongino Show Clips, was put on suspension as of January 20. A YouTube representative said the content he posted "violated our COVID-19 misinformation policies." Bongino told the Washington Examiner that the video YouTube cited in banning his accounts was titled "Why I'm Leaving YouTube." Bongino defended his suspension in the video, pointing out that a previous statement about mask usage was "widely accepted scientific dogma," including an old clip of Dr. Anthony Fauci saying something along similar lines.

"Interesting watching them try to spin this to try to save face," Bongino told the Washington Examiner. "Their stupidity is one of the main reasons I invested in Rumble. Rumble actually believes in free speech." Bongino's The Dan Bongino Show, which tackles political issues on both sides, has been streaming on a YouTube competitor's site, Rumble, and boasts more than 2 million subscribers.

Bongino previously alleged YouTube does not apply its moderation rules consistently between Liberals and Conservatives.

"What's happening right now across social media is exactly why @dbongino invested in @rumblevideo. Conservatives must become uncontrollable," the Bongino Report posted on Twitter. Bongino will likely continue posting his videos on Rumble, a YouTube competitor championed by some on the far-Right that he was an early investor in.

The new platform’s popularity has soared recently, reaching over 30 million monthly viewers in the first quarter of 2021 from under 2 million in the fall of 2020. It has attracted support from former President Trump, whose new media venture TRUTH Social announced a partnership with Rumble last month, and politicians including Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who announced he would be joining the platform after being suspended from YouTube.
