The assessment comes in a new survey near the anniversary of President Joe Biden's first year in office, only days after the anniversary of the Capitol riot.
Roughly half, or 26 percent, announced that U.S. democracy's survival "is secured for future generations," according to the poll from Schoen Cooperman Research.
Twenty-three percent explained they weren't sure, with 51 percent stating democracy was at risk of extinction.

The result comes after President Joe Biden spoke regarding the Capitol riot throughout a voting rights speech in Atlanta, stating that a year ago, a "dagger was literally held at the throat of American democracy."
On Saturday, former President Donald Trump, who launched an unsuccessful election overturn effort last year, once again argued that the 2020 presidential election was stolen despite fraud claims being tossed out of court, while advancing the conspiracy theory that the Capitol attack that Jan. 6th rioters were "FBI agents."

The poll revealed that the majority that believe Biden was the legitimate winner of the election has narrowed to only 54 percent amid Trump's persistent attacks. The number was 64 percent in April.
Voters appear split on the ideological risks to the nation, with 23 percent naming Left-wing extremism and 21 percent naming Right-wing extremism.

A large 80 percent majority announced it was more important for lawmakers to "work together" to solve issues, instead of following their ideological beliefs. This is amid major impasses in the Senate over Biden's Build Back Better plan, voting rights, judges, how to handle the Coronavirus, and other matters.
"We found that Americans are losing faith in their democracy, arguably worse than ever before. They're losing faith in elections, institutions, and the ability of democracy to survive. Everything is negative," announced pollster Carly Cooperman, the New York Post reported.

Meanwhile, Dick Morris, a one time top adviser to former President Bill Clinton, announced a "good chance" of a 2024 rematch between Hillary Clinton and Trump.
Morris explained on Sunday that if Democrats lose command of Congress in the 2022 midterm elections, President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will be toast — paving the way for a second Hillary bid, with husband Bill playing an architect to her strategy.

"There's a good chance of it," announced Morris, referring to a Hillary-Trump rematch, to John Catsimatidis on the radio host's WABC show.
"Hillary has set up a brilliant strategy that nobody else is able to do," Morris continued. "Knowing the people around her, I believe there is only one person capable of that level of thinking — and that's her husband, Bill."
