The White House has a resolution for Vladimir Putin's territorial aims: "build back better" rather than invade Ukraine.

In what has become symbolic of the Democrats' insistence on sticking to their talking points, the Biden administration pressed the Russian President to "build back better" in Russia rather than threatening aggression towards Ukraine.

Speaking to reporters hours after the Biden administration confessed that its own Build Back Better method won't pass Congress this year, a senior admin official announced that polling in Russia reveals strong backing for policies Biden himself has struggled to pass in the US.

"The Russian people don't need a war with Ukraine. They don't need their sons coming home in body bags. They don't need another foreign adventure," the official announced, according to the New York Post.

"What they need is better health care, better roads, schools, economic opportunity," the official went on. "And that's what the polling is showing in Russia. So we hope that President Putin will take this opportunity for diplomacy and will also listen to the needs of his own people."

The Russian embassy has not responded to the senior Biden official's comments.

The policy recommendations for Moscow follow the White House's admission Friday morning that Biden's sweeping $2 trillion social and environmental spending bill won't pass before the holidays due to the qualms of centrist Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV). Manchin has announced he fears the legislation's effect on inflation, which reached a 39-year high in November.

Early Friday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters that the president does not expect to see any movement for his own Build Back Better plans until early next year.

"The president wants to see this move forward — I think you saw in his statement — early next year," Psaki told reporters on Air Force One.

Biden's plans hit a roadblock after West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin expressed fears over the legislation's negative impact on the economy. On Thursday, Biden announced in a statement that Manchin "has reiterated his support for Build Back Better funding at the level of the framework plan I announced in September. I believe that we will bridge our differences and advance the Build Back Better plan, even in the face of fierce Republican opposition."

Biden, in September, rolled out a "framework" that would cost $1.75 trillion, offset by $1.995 trillion in new revenue through new taxes and raised IRS enforcement.

The House passed the package last month with a $2.2 trillion price tag, though if it passes the Senate it's supposed to shrink in size due to resistance from Manchin and fellow centrist Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.).

Manchin announced he's concerned that "gimmicks" have lowered the true cost of the package — as costs are spread over fewer years than revenue streams.
