She was given that part by Biden in March, tasked with liaising with El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala as the Administration faced a surge in the number of people reaching the southern border.
But during her routine daily briefing, Psaki was asked whether the Vice President stayed in the role.
"She is, and I just announced a commitment that she’s announcing this afternoon," said Psaki, citing a $1.2 billion investment from businesses in Central American economies.
"Well, then why is it that she has not spoken to the President of Guatemala since June?" added Peter Doocy of Fox News. "That’s six months."

Psaki responded: "I know that I did see this kind of strange report from the President of Guatemala saying that he’s had no contact with the White House, which is inaccurate."
