Aaron Rodgers appears to have deceived the public once again regarding a COVID-related health condition.

This time, the Green Bay Packers quarterback maintains he wasn't serious when he revealed he had 'COVID toe' during a Tuesday interview with SiriusXM's Pat McAfee, which is a condition that has affected those who have gotten the virus, including Rodgers. When questioned about his recent experience with COVID-19, Rodgers told McAfee on Tuesday, "No lingering effects aside from the Covid toe." Rodgers chuckled but did not clarify that he was joking at the time.

However, during a video press conference with reporters on Wednesday, the former NFL MVP clarified that he has a fractured toe rather than any of the lesions associated with COVID toe, or pernio, as it is also known. Rodgers demonstrated his point by exposing his bare foot to the camera and blamed the media for publicizing his remarks on Tuesday.

According to ProFootballTalk, he remarked, "It's worse than turf toe and it must be a bone issue." “I can't believe I have to come on here and reveal my medical details, but I do have a fractured toe.”

He went on to say, “I've never heard of COVID toe before. My feet are free of sores. It's simply a case of misinformation. It's unexpected coming from what was once a respected news organization. But that is the reality we now live in.”

Rodgers' health troubles have perplexed the public for the second time this season. When questioned in August if he had been vaccinated against COVID-19, he replied that he had been 'immunized,' implying that he had gotten the shot. Rodgers was found to be unvaccinated when he contracted COVID-19 and was ordered to quarantine for 10 days, the minimum amount of time required by league rules for an unvaccinated athlete to be away from the squad.

Rodgers apologized in a November 9 interview to "anyone who feels deceived," after initially blaming the media for the misunderstanding. Rodgers' struggle with COVID toe after being infected with the virus earlier this month would not have been out of the ordinary.

According to a recent study published in the British Journal of Dermatology, COVID toe, also known as pernio or chilblains, has been observed 'with increasing frequency in children and young adults during the COVID-19 epidemic.

Around the toes, the illness might cause discoloration or sores. Excess interferon, a protein that the body uses to fight infection, is thought to be the cause of COVID toes, according to researchers.

The Wall Street Journal quoted Esther Freeman, a doctor and main investigator for the Covid-19 Dermatology Registry, as saying, 'The way I would think about it is it's basically a side effect of how your own immune system is fighting the virus.' 'It's part of our immune system's response to the infection.' It's almost too good to be true.' According to Freeman, the symptoms usually go away one to four weeks after the COVID-19 infection.

Rodgers' immunization status sparked controversy earlier this month when he tested positive for COVID-19 and was forced to enter a 10-day quarantine, the minimum amount of time required by NFL rules for an unvaccinated athlete.

Many people were surprised to learn that Rodgers is unvaccinated because he seemed to hint in August that he had received the shot when he informed reporters that he was 'immunized.' He had never gotten the vaccine and was simply referring to a doctor-prescribed procedure to raise his antibody levels, as it turned out. Rodgers has already apologized 'to anyone who was deceived,' although he has not admitted to lying to reporters during training camp.

This Monday, Howard Stern began his attacks on Rodgers, accusing him of lying about getting vaccinated, according to the SiriusXM show.

“This f******* Aaron Rodgers, he's a scumbag because he lied,” said Stern, who previously called for him to be banned from the league.

Stern, 67, is a vocal supporter of the vaccine but believes Rodgers' biggest offense was deluding those around him. 'Forget about the fact that he didn't get the vaccine,' Stern added, 'he lied to everyone.' 'He put people's lives in jeopardy.' Families are important to people. He's a jerk, and the NFL should be embarrassed by themselves for allowing him to play.'
