"Chris Christie, who just made a speech at the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) in Las Vegas, was just absolutely massacred by his statements that Republicans have to move on from the past, meaning the 2020 Election Fraud," Trump said in a statement released through his Save America PAC on Monday.
Trump was responding to CNN's reporting over the weekend about Christie, who ran an unsuccessful Presidential campaign against Trump in the 2016 cycle before supporting him. Christie urged Republicans during the Republican Jewish Coalition conference in Las Vegas to get back to the issues that influence people's everyday lives if they want to replicate 2021 successes in places such as Virginia and New Jersey.

"We can no longer talk about the past and the past elections — no matter where you stand on that issue, no matter where you stand, it is over," Christie said. "Every minute that we spend talking about 2020 — while we're wasting time doing that, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer are laying ruin to this country. We better focus on that and take our eyes off the rearview mirror and start looking through the windshield again."

Trump also mentioned poll numbers, saying, "Everybody remembers that Chris left New Jersey with a less than 9% approval rating — a record low, and they didn’t want to hear this from him!"

Christie, who served as Governor of New Jersey from 2010 to 2018, did experience low approval ratings by the time he finished his second term, but it wasn't directly clear where Trump got the 9% number.
According to a Politico report at the time, a Quinnipiac University Poll showed Christie with a 15% approval rating in mid-2017. When asked about such polls, Christie said, "I don't care" because he was not running for public office at the time. Christie won reelection by a wide margin just four years prior.

Trump, who worked one term in the White House, had job approval ratings averaging in the low 40s by the time he left office in January. He claims the 2020 election was stolen from him due to extensive fraud and discrepancies. .
Christie told CNN he will not announce whether he will attempt another bid for the White House until 2022 after he can gauge the midterm elections.
