Joe Rogan says he tested positive for COVID-19 but is feeling better after treating himself with a variety of remedies.

The podcaster and UFC commentator posted to Instagram on Thursday announcing he would postpone a show for his "Sacred Clown Tour" in Nashville on Friday, in which he was expected to perform with comedian Dave Chappelle, as he recovers.

“I got back from the road Saturday night feeling very weary,” Rogan said in a video. “I had a headache, and I just felt like I just ran down. And just to be cautious, I separated from my family, slept in a different part of the house, and throughout the night, I got fevers and sweats, and I knew what was going on. So, I got up in the morning, got tested, and it turns out I got COVID."

Rogan said he "threw the kitchen sink" at the illness, including Ivermectin, an anti-parasitic drug the Food and Drug Administration says should not be used for COVID-19, and monoclonal antibodies, a cocktail former President Donald Trump took when he caught the disease.

"We immediately threw the kitchen sink at it: all kinds of meds. Monoclonal antibodies, Ivermectin, Z-pack, Prednisone — everything. I also got an NAD drip and a vitamin drip, and I did that three days in a row, and so here we are on Wednesday, and I feel great," Rogan said.

“I really only had one bad day. Sunday sucked. But Monday was better. Tuesday felt better than Monday, and today I feel good. I feel pretty f***ing good. That’s the good news," he added. "The bad news is we have to move the Friday show in Nashville. It’s going to move to Sunday, Oct. 24. So that will be the new Nashville date. My apologies to everyone. Obviously, this is nothing I can control. It is what it is. Crazy times we’re living in, but a wonderful, heartfelt thank you to modern medicine for pulling us out so quickly and easily. And my love to all of you. Thank you.”

Rogan, 54, has not said whether he has taken a COVID-19 vaccine. In March, Biden administration officials slammed him for discouraging young, healthy people from getting the vaccine on the eponymous podcast show, The Joe Rogan Experience.

His podcast was acquired by Spotify last year for more than $100m (£77m).

In April he faced a backlash over his vaccine comments. He later clarified: "I'm not an anti-vax person."
