The Fox News host posted a screenshot of an email, which appeared to be from Lt. Colonel Matthew Burrows, in which members of the base were alerted that "passenger aircraft" would be utilizing runways under the direction of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol. Carlson revealed on Wednesday the correspondence was obtained from a "whistleblower," adding the information was confirmed by the Pentagon.
“Over the next few days, weeks or months you may see passenger aircraft on our ramp transporting undocumented non-citizens," the email read, in part. "Please review the attached public affairs guidance on this issue.”

The correspondence pointed recipients to a statement that would be issued if inquiries were made.
“In coordination with the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Del Rio Border Patrol will be using the Laughlin AFB runway to transport undocumented non-citizens via a Boeing 737," it read.

Burrows also instructed service members to not take pictures of the events, according to the correspondence.
“Do not take photographs and refrain from posting anything on social media," he declared. "If anyone asks you about it, refer them to public affairs."

Carlson said Lt. Col Chris Mitchell, a spokesperson for the Pentagon, confirmed the authenticity of the email and said the military was helping to facilitate "non-citizen movement." Carlson remarked that ICE "did not deny" the utilization of Laughlin Air Force Base.

Neither the Department of Defense nor ICE immediately responded to requests for comment.

Tennessee Adjutant General Jeff Holmes accompanied Gov. Lee and First Lady Maria Lee to spend time with troops and thank them for their service. Gov. Lee and Major Gen. Holmes also participated in a series of briefings regarding illegal crossings with origins from 56 countries, drug seizures and other exploitive crimes like human trafficking.
“What I saw at the border is unsustainable for our country and should be number one priority for national security,” said Gov. Lee. “Tennessee will always step up and serve, but we need immediate reinforcements, like a finished border wall, to ensure our men and women in uniform have the tools they need to do their job.”
