Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene threw her support behind a judge-approved inspection of absentee ballots cast in the 2020 election in Georgia's Fulton County.

The Republican congresswoman commented to One America News Network that the review "definitely needs to happen," despite opposition from local officials.

"It looks like there was serious fraud in Fulton County, Georgia, which is where the city of Atlanta is located. So I'm very much anxious to see that happen," Greene stated

Greene was elected to the House back in 2020 and has quickly distinguished herself as one of former President Donald Trump's most vocal supporters in Congress. She does not represent the residents of Fulton County. Instead, she hails from Georgia's 14th Congressional District, located in the northwest part of the state.

Superior Court Judge Brian Amero ordered Fulton County to allow a review of copies of 147,000 absentee ballots as part of a lawsuit in which voters sued for access to search for evidence of fraud in November's election. However, the judge canceled a meeting to discuss logistical plans for the audit to give him time to consider and rule on motions filed by attorneys for Fulton County to dismiss the case. A hearing on the motions is scheduled for later this month.

Garland Favorito, co-founder of the group VoterGA who is a plaintiff in the case, recently told RealClearInvestigations he is fairly certain at least 10,000 absentee ballots, if not double that number, were problematic.

“We have what is almost surely major absentee-ballot fraud in Fulton County involving 10,000 to 20,000 probably false ballots,” he said.

President Joe Biden won Georgia by just about 12,000 votes, a tally affirmed in multiple recounts and certified by the state, prompting judges to turn away legal challenges to the results. This lingering suit's audit would not change the outcome of the race.

Favorito, a poll watcher who has a reputation in the media for entertaining conspiracy theories over the years, is among a group of voters who sued in December for access to look for evidence of fraud in November's election. They scored a victory in court last month.

Trump and his allies have touted efforts to review the results of the 2020 election, including the Arizona Senate's audit in Maricopa County, despite federal, state, and local election officials maintaining that there is no evidence of widespread fraud.

Greene voiced support for the audit in Maricopa County but suggested people should espouse a "realistic" stance on the far-flung notion of changing the outcome of the 2020 contest, even though the congresswoman noted she believes Trump won.

"The Constitution doesn't give us a clear pathway to overturn" the election if "voter fraud is proven," she declared.

Greene also asserted Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger did a "terrible job" handling the 2020 election, noting that frustration is what prompted him to be censured at the Georgia GOP convention over the weekend.
