The Florida congressman projected former President Donald Trump will attempt to run for another time, non consecutive term in 2024 during a Sunday evening broadcast of The Next Revolution With Steve Hilton on Fox News.
"I believe that the future of the GOP is another candidacy for President Trump in 2024," said Gaetz, who noted Trump was "talking, absolutely, like a candidate" when he visited with the former president in Florida on Saturday.
Gaetz also claimed that the Republican Party remains to be linked by an inner dispute in the post-Trump era, represented by the dual rise of Reps. Liz Cheney, who voted to impeach Trump, and Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has remained firmly faithful to the former president while pushing against criticism of her contentious past.

"I don't see a Republican Party that is entirely united. ... There is the 'America first,' pro-Trump wing of the party, and there is the establishment wing of the party, and the establishment wants their power back," he said.
The GOP must experience a "reformation in this church of a Republican Party" by acknowledging that Cheney's wing of the party continues endless wars, unfettered immigration, and unfair trade deals, Gaetz added.

There have been other signs of a split in the Republican Party. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell reportedly never wants to speak to the former president again, and Gov. Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas promised not to back a Trump run in 2024.

The backlashes also continue to some of Trump's former top officials. Nikki Haley, who served as the former president's ambassador to the United Nations, broke with Trump earlier this month, predicting that he won't pursue another run because "he let [Republicans] down."

“I don’t think he’s going to be in the picture,” Haley said, suggesting that the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill siege permanently damaged Trump's political career. “I don’t think he can. He’s fallen so far.”
In a recent Newsmax interview, Trump did not rule out running for the White House again, saying: "I won't say yet, but we have tremendous support."

The congressman added that he had met with Trump recently and the former president was "talking absolutely like a candidate."
Gaetz also stressed at "establishment Republicans," saying he does not see a "party that is entirely united."

The Florida representative has long been a strong Trump ally and has hit out at fellow Republicans who have scrutinized the former president.
Gaetz has previously said he wants more GOP leaders with Trump's spirit to "continue to harness the energy of the Trump movement."
