President Biden's administration has already made some changes to the White House's online contact method.

The form gives users the possibility to list their preferred pronouns, with possible responses including "she/her,” “he/him,” “they/them,” “other,” and “prefer not to share.” The website also offers extended options of user prefixes, with “Mx.,” “other (please specify),” and "none" listed alongside the more conventional “Mr.,” “Ms.,” “Mrs.,” and “Dr.”

The alteration was praised by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, which said that the move symbolizes a step toward inclusivity.

“On Day One, the Biden administration has taken immediate steps to include trans, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming people in the conversation,” said GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis.

“Pronouns matter, and adding inclusive pronouns to a contact form is more than just a demonstration of allyship. Research has shown that recognition and respect of our pronouns can make all the difference for our health and wellbeing — especially when it comes to LGBTQ youth.”

Conservatives on Twitter suggested the administration's priorities should be elsewhere.

"The administration that values objectively verifiable facts has begun!" wrote Daily Wire editor emeritus Ben Shapiro in a tweet.

Newsweek columnist Benjamin Weingarten wrote, "Our Ruling Class is incredibly serious."

Others were duller in their scrutiny, showing concern regarding what the change could mean for the Biden administration's agenda going forward.

"It’s going to be four years of little faceless Biden sock puppets running around doing useless s--- like this," Chadwick Moore, editor-in-chief of the Log Cabin Republicans' OUTspoken publication, tweeted. "And selling more of our country to China. Maybe a war or two. That’s about it."

Biden has also made historic administration appointments, yet to be approved by Inauguration Day.

Pennsylvania Health Secretary Rachel Levine has been picked to be Biden's assistant secretary of health. Levine, if affirmed, would be the first openly transgender federal official to ever be confirmed by the Senate.

Levine is a pediatrician and former Pennsylvania physician general. She was selected to her current position by Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf in 2017, which made her one of the few transgender people serving in elected or appointed positions nationwide, The Associated Press reported.

And Pete Buttigieg, the openly gay former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, who ran against Biden to be the Democratic nominee for president of the United States this past campaign season, was already making history with his presidential bid as a gay man.

Now, Biden has tapped Buttigieg to be transportation secretary, and his Thursday confirmation in the Senate could go smoothly.
