Vice President Mike Pence has not taken out of consideration invoking the 25th Amendment against President Trump in case his point-of-view becomes more sensitive in the days leading up to Inauguration Day, according to a report.

Pence’s team is worried invoking the 25th Amendment — which can be implemented to remove a president from office — or starting an impeachment process, might cause Trump to take action which puts the nation at jeopardy, a source told CNN.

Pence’s goal for now is to assure there’s a soft transition of power between the Trump administration and President-elect Joe Biden’s team, as well as making sure Biden is fit to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, the source told the network.

When Pence explained that he could not do that and sent a letter to members of Congress that he would follow the Constitution, Trump used his Wednesday rally encouraged the crowd to protest near the Capitol Hill, and said of his vice president, "Mike Pence, I hope you're gonna stand up for the good of our Constitution and for the good of our country, and if you're not, I'm going to be very disappointed in you, I will tell you right now.
