The Secret Service is asking agents in President Donald Trump's detail if they want to relocate to Palm Beach, Florida, where he's assumed to live out his post-presidency.

The agency that guards current and ex-presidents is performing unofficial steps to beef up security at Mar-a-Lago, with the nearby Miami field office looking at physical reinforcements.

Trump announced Mar-a-Lago his permanent residence last year when he got angry at his longtime home state of New York. He and first lady Melania Trump voted as residents of Palm Beach in the March presidential primary, the Florida state and local primaries in August, and the November general election.

Trump has refused to concede to President-elect Joe Biden, notwithstanding court case after court case not working for him. Late Monday, even the GSA administrator who was holding out, warned President-elect Joe Biden could formally start the transition.

Biden, in the meantime, is starting to pick his cabinet.

A day before the election was announced by the major networks in his favor, the Secret Service had already transferred reinforcements to Wilmington, Delaware to give added protection for Biden.

As a former vice president, and also the Democratic nominee, Biden then had Secret Service protection, though it was obvious from the size of his motorcade on November 6, that his detail had grown.

His detail will likely get bigger too, though the Secret Service didn't directly answer on whether Biden is now receiving a detail the size of what's expected for a president-elect, or if something else - like a Trump concession speech, or the Electoral College vote - will ignite it.

'For operational security reasons, the Secret Service does not discuss specifically or in general terms the means, methods or resources we utilize to carry out our protective mission,' a spokesperson said.

The exact same statement was later given when reporters questioned Trump's detail moving to Florida.

ABC News reported that the Trumps' living quarters in Mar-a-Lago were being currently renovated.

Renovations are supposed to be finished by January 20, when Biden will be sworn-in and the Trumps will likely decamp to Florida.

The president and first lady canceled plans to celebrate Thanksgiving at Mar-a-Lago and will stay in Washington instead, the first lady's spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham tweeted earlier this month.

Trump proceeds with his legal challenges against the election result, and it seems like the President isn't going to back down any time soon.

President Trump has only made three public appearances since the election was called for Biden on November 7. He has, though, left the White House every weekend day since then to go golfing.
