In a Reuters/Ipsos poll released Wednesday, 5 percent of the 1,346 Democrat and Republican respondents believed that Trump won the election and 73 percent said Biden was the winner.
But when pointedly asked about the "rightful" winner, Republicans showed they were skeptical about how Biden's victory was secured.
Of the 496 Republicans polled, 52 percent said Trump was the "rightful" winner, while only 29 percent said they believe Biden had "rightfully won."
The poll was taken November 13-17, more than a week after Election Day shows President Trump's open resistance of Biden's victory appears to be touching the public's faith in American democracy – especially among Republicans.

When Republicans were asked why they were more worried than others that state vote counters had tilted the result toward Biden, 68 percent said they were worried that the election was "rigged."

16 percent of Democrats and around one-third of independent voters have comparable concerns about voter fraud in the election.
White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said Wednesday that the administration still thinks once all "legal votes" are counted, the president will secure a second term.
"Look, this president has always said he will engage in a peaceful transfer of power if the facts bear out that way," McEnany told Fox & Friends amid an interview with the board Wednesday morning.
"But the president believes, and so too do many others, that if every legal vote is counted, he will remain president," she claimed. "He's pursuing litigation. This president always wants what's in the best interest of our country."

Trump's speech toward the 2020 election, including the words "rigged," "stolen" and "fraudulent", has spread off on his followers.
Many have even gathered around this statement, creating "Stop the Steal" groups on Facebook with protests occurring up all over the country calling for election officials to stop counting mail-in ballots.

Since Biden gathered enough electoral votes to secure the White House four days after the election, Trump has increased his criticisms of an electron process he insists is unfair to him, telling his supporters that he is the victim of extensive illegal voting.

Trump has made similar complaints ever since his 2016 campaign.
Republicans stated this week that they were filing federal election lawsuits in Michigan, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
The poll showed that more Americans appear to be worried about the U.S. election process than they were four years ago.
