White House press secretary Jen Psaki agrees Fox News's Peter Doocy sounds like "a stupid son of a b****."

The question came up during a Thursday recording of Pod Save America, dating back to when President Joe Biden famously called Doocy "a stupid son of a b****" in January for asking a question about inflation, which the White House has since identified as a mounting problem.

“He works for a network that provides people with questions that, nothing personal to any individual, including Peter Doocy, but might make anyone sound like a stupid son of a b****," Psaki replied.

Part of her answer is identical to what Biden reportedly told Doocy in a phone call after the statement.

"It's nothing personal, pal," the president said, according to Doocy in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity. Doocy also stressed that Biden sought to "clear the air" and said it was "a nice call." Psaki also reportedly told the story of the personal call.

"In his role as White House correspondent, Peter Doocy’s job is to elicit truth from power for the American public. His questions are his own, he is a terrific reporter, and we are extremely proud of his work," a Fox News spokesperson told the Washington Examiner.

Psaki replied to the condemnation she faced in a tweet late Friday. "Full video shows I also told a story about Peter’s grace last night and made very clear I was not being critical of him or any reporter at Fox, and instead was critical of the slant of some Fox topics. He is doing his job. I am doing mine. We debate. We disagree. I respect that," she said.

During the recording of the podcast, Psaki also addressed the question of how much longer she'll stay on as press secretary. She could leave the White House as early as May to take a job at MSNBC, a move experts say is concerned with ethical problems.

“I will not be there forever. … I don’t know the date or anything like that, but at some point, I’ll be watching from somewhere else," Psaki said, according to Daniels.

In addition, Psaki said the White House has no intentions for Biden to travel to Kyiv in Ukraine, where Russia invaded seven weeks ago.

Roberts, a former Fox News White House correspondent himself, came to the defense of his network colleague and fired back at Psaki over social media. "Note to @PressSec. @pdoocy makes the decisions on what topics he wants to quiz you on, and develops the questions himself," Roberts tweeted.

"His philosophy is a basic tenet of journalism. Comfort the afflicted, and afflict the comfortable. If that makes all of us "stupid s.o.b.s," so be it."
