Kyle Rittenhouse, who was cleared of all charges on Friday in the shooting of three men during unrest last summer in Kenosha, Wisconsin, announced he is now considering significant changes in his life.

In an interview with host Ashleigh Banfield, which aired Tuesday night on NewsNation Now, the 18-year-old announced he may take steps to hide his identity.

"I am considering changing my name," Rittenhouse stated. "Growing a beard maybe, losing some weight — I gained it all back during this stressful time."

"He has to get on with his life the best he can. I think eventually some anonymity will come back to it. I don't think he'll continue to live in this area. I think it's too dangerous," he stated after the jury's verdict.

Rittenhouse told Fox News host Tucker Carlson in an interview that aired Monday evening that he is a student at Arizona State University and talked about what he wants to be in the future.

"I want to be a nurse, so I've been doing the prerequisites for that," he announced. "I don't know for sure yet. … I may change it. I've been looking into the law. I may want to become a lawyer. I haven't completely decided yet, but I've been looking."

Furthermore, he talked of threats he has faced.

"I was an innocent 17-year-old who was violently attacked and defended myself," he explained. "I feel my life has been extremely defamed. ... I don't think I would be able to go out and get a job and not have to deal with harassment. But I'm at a place now … where I have to have people with me because people want to kill me just because I defended myself — and they're too ignorant to look at the facts of what happened. … I see some of the threats. Some of the things people say, it's absolutely sickening."

Rittenhouse, who was 17 when he fatally shot two men and injured a third during the unrest in Kenosha, insisted he was acting in self-defense and was in the city with a rifle to help defend businesses there throughout the unrest that followed the police shooting of Jacob Blake.

On Friday, a Wisconsin jury acquitted Rittenhouse of all charges, ranging from intentional homicide to recklessly endangering safety.
