Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Georgia Republican, has accumulated about $48,000 in fines for violating the House chamber's mask mandate.

According to the House Ethics Committee, Greene has been penalized at least seven times this year for violating the order. Greene was not wearing a mask in the chamber 20 times in a letter dated Oct. 28 from the House Sergeant-at-Arms William Walker, the Hill reports.

"You have been observed not wearing a mask on July 29, August 2, September 20, 21, 23, 24, 27, 28, 29, 30, and October 1, 12, 19, 20, 21, 22, 25, 26, and 27, and have been asked by a member of my staff to wear a mask while in the Hall of the House of Representatives on each occasion unless recognized to speak by the chair," Walker wrote in the letter.

Despite the daunting fines, Greene said she will not leave her position against the "authoritarian" orders.

"I will continue my stand on the House floor against authoritarian Democrat mandates, because I don’t want the American people to stand alone,” Greene said in a Monday statement.

The House published a mask mandate in July 2020 amid coronavirus concerns. Fines were later enforced after several Republicans took a stand against the mandate. A fine of $500 is given for first-time offenders and a $2,500 fine for the following violations.

More fines could be coming soon for the Congresswoman, who makes $174,000 a year, the annual salary for most House and Senate members.

Greene's office said it's been told of violations on 19 different dates by the House Sergeant-at-Arms, which could lead to almost $50,000 in fines. Some of the dates in the letter from the Sergeant-at Arms, which The Hill first reported, don't follow the information made public by the Ethics Committee, and some of the dates mentioned appear to have passed without a fine.

Greene's first fine derived from a violation in May when she was part of a group of House Republicans who refused to wear masks despite House rules and guidance from the House physician. She and two other House Republicans have since filed a Federal lawsuit challenging the rule and the fines as "unconstitutional." The case is pending.

Greene isn't the only Georgia Republican hit with multiple mask fines. Rep. Andrew Clyde was fined three times for refusing to wear a mask on the same late September dates as Greene. According to the House Ethics Committee, Clyde, also a Georgia Republican, has been fined a total of $8,000 for not wearing a mask in the chamber, and he also did not appeal the penalties.
