Fox News host Tucker Carlson wondered aloud during his show Wednesday night about how long it will be until Trump supporters are punished by the government for their political beliefs.

“How long before they cut off your water and electricity?” Carlson pondered, “Before UPS won’t deliver your packages?”

The cable news host listed examples in recent days of private companies engaging in political censorship, including news that insurance giant AIG canceled former baseball star Curt Schilling’s insurance policy because of his pro-Trump social media presence.

“Curt Schilling wrote a social media post defending Donald Trump,” Carlson said. “And in 2021, that’s not allowed. You can lose your insurance for that.”

Carlson further mentioned reports that President Trump’s bank abruptly terminated some of his bank accounts.

“You can also lose your bank account, your website, your access to email and social media, your ability to communicate with the outside world, and there’s nothing you can do about it because you can also lose your lawyer,” Carlson continued.

Carlson also criticized Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for spending time criticizing Trump’s personal shortcomings rather than working to better the lives of the roughly 75 million people who voted for him.

“For the last week, slow learners like Mitch McConnell ... have allowed themselves to be led into rhetorical cul de sacs on the question of Donald Trump’s personal character as a man,” Carlson said. “At no point does it seem to have occurred to McConnell, or any of these sort of geniuses clustered around him, that what is really at stake right now is not the future of Donald Trump ... but instead the future of his voters.”

Fox news indicated their stance on the matter, and wrote: “Within hours of last week's riot in the U.S. Capitol, we denounced the violence in the clearest possible terms. We did that for one reason: We are totally opposed to political violence and have said so virtually every night for the past six months, since the riots that began on Memorial Day. We meant it then, we mean it now.”

They conclude: “Every person who broke the law this past Wednesday should be prosecuted. Vandalize a building, hurt a cop, go to jail. That's our position and always has been. This show is for law and order. Many of those currently in power are not, but believe instead in selective enforcement.

The crackdown we've watched over the past five days amounts to collective punishment. People who had nothing to do with the violence in the U.S. Capitol are being punished for that violence in a way that is repugnant, immoral and anti-American. It should shock our sensibilities. It shocks Alexey Navalny, the Russian dissident who was poisoned last year, apparently by the Putin government. He's watched the recent crackdown in this country by Joe Biden's allies in big business and Big Tech with growing concern and horror. “
