It says that such messages were suppressed because Google’s algorithm would automatically send many of these messages to G-mail spam folders instead of to the primary inbox of that individual.
The Party is now looking at potential legal options to end what it calls a “clear bias on the part of Big Tech companies such as Google.” An RNC official spoke with Fox News Digital and stated that of the 22 million e-mails sent to spam folders, at least 358,000 were GOTV e-mails. Most of the others were fundraising e-mails for particular candidates and the Party itself.
On September 28 alone, G-mail spammed 3.1 million RNC e-mails. It upped that number to 9.8 million on September 29, and it even topped that on September 30 when it spammed 9.96 million RNC e-mails.

RNC officials are frustrated and say they have raised the issue with Google for months without any resolution to their concerns. This lack of resolution leads some within the Party to talk about exploring potential legal options they may take to address the problem.

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel says that Google appears to spam RNC e-mails at the end of the month more so than any other part of the month. Internal records at the RNC show an inbox delivery rate of between 90-100% during the remainder of the month but an inbox delivery rate of near 0% on the last few days of the month.

She says that Big Tech is deliberately undermining the democratic process and that the RNC will do what it needs to so that those e-mails are delivered how they are supposed to be.
Republican Party officials say that the deliberate spamming of such a large number of e-mails clearly shows an illegal action on the part of Google and a contribution from the company to the Democratic Party.

The RNC wants the Federal Election Commission to launch an investigation into the actions taken by Google on this matter.
Spokespeople for Google told Fox News that Party affiliation has no role in which e-mails are placed in spam folders. Google spokesperson José Castañeda told Fox News that the company sends e-mails to spam folders when users ask them to do so. He again stated that party affiliation had no role in which e-mails ended up in spam folders.
