'Wackadoodle' Rep. Jasmine Crockett Just Proved She’s Even Too Clueless For ‘The Squad!'

In the world of Texas politics, Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett has made a name for herself, but not in the way one might expect.

Despite sharing the same radical left-wing ideologies and a penchant for seeking attention as the infamous "squad," Crockett has yet to be welcomed into their ranks.

According to Gateway Pundit, one might wonder if this is a deliberate choice on Crockett's part, but that seems unlikely. After all, being part of the "squad" offers a direct connection to progressive activist darlings like Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar.

The criteria for membership are not particularly stringent, requiring only a youthful spirit and a strong liberal stance. This is evident from the diverse range of members, from the allegedly corrupt Omar to the purportedly anti-Semitic former Representative Jamaal Bowman, and even those who embody both traits, like former Representative Cori Bush.

Crockett, however, remains conspicuously absent from this group. She explained to Politico that the "squad" label is toxic for her campaign in Texas. This reasoning seems questionable, considering she represents a district so staunchly Democratic that it elected her. The label could potentially elevate her profile, especially since Crockett has a reputation for seeking the limelight, rivaling even Senator Chuck Schumer in her eagerness to be in front of a camera.

An alternative explanation for her exclusion from the "squad" could be her lack of intellectual prowess, which seems to be a prerequisite for this unofficial caucus. A recent incident involving the January jobs growth data serves as a prime example. The data showed a less than stellar performance, with nonfarm payrolls increasing by 143,000 and unemployment dropping to 4.0 percent. These figures fell short of economists' predictions, which averaged 170,000 jobs added, with some estimates as high as 250,000.

Crockett, in a move reminiscent of a Republican strategy, seized on this data, attributing the lackluster numbers to President Donald Trump's anti-DEI policies. "So it turns out when you DON’T go woke, you go broke," she declared on X, adding, "Trump’s New DEI? Dying Economy and Inflation. It’s only two weeks in and Trump is Making America Broke Again!"

However, Crockett's bold claims were quickly debunked by X users, who pointed out that Trump was not in office for most of January, nor during the reference period used by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) to compile these numbers. The BLS clearly states on its website that "The survey reference period is the pay period including the 12th of the month. This can vary according to an establishment’s length of pay period, a factor taken into account when compiling the data."

This oversight on Crockett's part suggests that the economic downturn was a result of President Joe Biden's policies, not Trump's. It's not merely a case of Democrats suddenly complaining about the cost of living after Trump took office, while previously praising the economy under similar conditions during Biden's tenure.

Crockett's blunder goes beyond the usual political maneuvering of shifting blame for economic woes onto the opposing party. She attempted to make the same argument without even verifying who was in office when the data she was using was gathered. This level of ignorance is alarming, especially for a member of Congress who relies on such statistics to make informed decisions.

Crockett's exclusion from the "squad" may have less to do with her Texas roots and more to do with her inability to effectively perform her duties as an elected official. Her failure to fact-check her own arguments before publicizing them demonstrates a level of incompetence that even the "squad" seems unwilling to tolerate. It's a sobering reminder for her constituents of the caliber of representation they currently have in Congress.
