Frank Biden, the younger brother of President Joe Biden, has suggested that the president's health was a significant factor in his decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race.

CBS White House Correspondent Nancy Cordes reported that Frank Biden told the network, "In my humble opinion absolutely" when asked if his brother's health had influenced his decision to step down. He added that he is grateful for "whatever time we have left."

However, as reported by The Post Millennial, a source close to the Biden family has disputed Frank Biden's claims. The source, who wished to remain anonymous, stated, “Frank Biden suffers from alcoholism and hasn’t spoken to his brother in weeks. What he said...is completely untrue.”

The president's health has been a topic of concern in recent weeks. Last week, President Biden tested positive for COVID-19, leading him to cancel his scheduled campaign events and isolate with his family. Following this, he made the surprising decision to withdraw from the presidential race on Sunday, endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as his successor.

The president's decision to step down comes after weeks of pressure from within his own party. His performance in a debate against Donald Trump on June 27 was widely criticized, leading many Democrats to call for his withdrawal. Despite this, Biden had initially resolved to continue his campaign.

In response to Biden's withdrawal, House Speaker Mike Johnson has called for his immediate resignation. Johnson argued, "If Joe Biden is not fit to run for President, he is not fit to serve as President. He must resign the office immediately." This statement underscores the conservative viewpoint that the president's health concerns should not be overlooked, and that the office of the president requires a leader in optimal health.
