In a statement to Mediaite, Senior Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates expressed his condemnation of the video. "It is abhorrent, sickening, and disgraceful for anyone to promote content associated with Germany’s Nazi government under Adolf Hitler," Bates said. He further criticized the former president for his alleged association with neo-Nazis and his controversial comments following the Charlottesville incident. Bates also condemned any form of Antisemitic dog whistling, describing it as "dangerous and offensive – and profoundly un-American."

In response to the backlash, the Trump campaign issued a statement distancing itself from the video, attributing it to a staff member's error. "This was not a campaign video. It was created by a random account online and reposted by a staffer who clearly did not see the word while the President was in court," said Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt.

The Biden administration continued its criticism of Trump in a statement emailed to Mediaite. The statement warned Americans to pay attention to Trump's actions, suggesting that he intends to "rule as a dictator over a 'unified reich.'" The statement further accused Trump of parroting 'Mein Kampf' and warned of the potential consequences of his return to power.
Following criticism from CNN and other outlets for not removing the video, Trump eventually deleted the post.
