Former First Lady Michelle Obama recently embarked on a whimsical "undercover" operation to sign copies of her latest book, "The Light We Carry," at a Target store in St. Louis, Missouri.

The video of this amusing endeavor was shared on her Instagram account, showcasing Obama, donned in a baseball cap and sunglasses, entering the store to sign her new release.

"We are on a mission. It's a secret mission. I had a crazy idea, I heard my paperback is out, and it's in Target," Obama revealed in the video. "So we are going to go undercover because I have not seen my book actually in a Target store. So we are going to try to do this low-key."

Following the signing of six copies of her book, a sequel to her best-selling memoir "Becoming," the 60-year-old former First Lady humorously navigated the aisles of the budget store, picking up items for herself, her husband, and their dog Sunny. She quipped, "The girls, they can get their own stuff."

Despite ongoing speculation from both Democratic and Republican camps about a potential presidential run, representatives for Ms. Obama have consistently dismissed these rumors. In a 2022 interview with the BBC, she expressed her disdain for such questions, stating she "detests" them.

"As former First Lady Michelle Obama has expressed several times over the years, she will not be running for president," Crystal Carson, the director of communications for her office, confirmed to NBC News last month. "Mrs. Obama supports President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris' re-election campaign."
