The Broadway stage is set to host "Suffs," a feminist musical chronicling the suffragist movement, with former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as a co-producer.

A video preview of the musical, scheduled to open at the Music Box Theatre on April 18, has elicited mixed reactions from the public, as evidenced by comments left on the video.

The preview features a group of women, the cast of the musical, performing one of the show's songs. The lyrics resonate with the feminist spirit, "Mr. President hear our cries. We the women of the country, we demand to be heard. We demand to be seen. We demand equality and nothing in between."

However, the musical has not been spared from criticism, with some viewers branding it as "insufferable" and "unbearable."

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, "Suffs" is set in 1913, a pivotal period when suffragists were instrumental in expanding the women's movement in America. The narrative portrays women surmounting challenges posed by generational, racial, and class divides. It underscores the nation's enduring struggle for equality and equity, culminating in the 19th Amendment. The story also emphasizes women's relentless pursuit of the legal right to vote in the United States.

Clinton, however, faced a confrontation from pro-Palestinian protestors outside a fundraiser she co-hosted with actor Lin-Manuel Miranda for Joe Biden, coinciding with a preview of "Suffs."
