Serves Them Right: Street Artist EXPOSES Fashion Brand For Vulgar Advertising

The luxury fashion brand Balenciaga is under scrutiny as protestors point out some of the vulgar advertising that the company has done.

Street artist Joe Bloggs went after the brand by putting the word "paedophilia" on the windows of the storefronts for this brand. For reference, that is the correct spelling of the word in British English.

Footage of the attack was captured, showing Bloggs wearing bright neon yellow (nothing to hide) and going after the store. He attaches something to the store window before stepping away to reveal what he has done. The word appears on the window, and the point is made.

Bloggs states that he must act this way because he is upset with Balenciaga. Breitbart News reports that the brand created a series of advertisements featuring children holding teddy bears clad in BDSM-themed outfits standing on beds. The ads also feature the inclusion of a US Supreme Court ruling that involved child pornography.

It didn't take long for people to jump all over the company for having created these advertisements in the first place. It was disgusting to many people that any company would think that this type of advertisement was appropriate or funny or whatever else they must have been thinking when going over their marketing choices.

The company apologized and stated that they had not approved the ads. Breitbart also reports that the company stated that they:

"strongly condemn the abuse of children in any form."

They continued by saying:

"We sincerely apologize for any offense our holiday campaign may have caused. Our plush bear bags should not have been featured with children in this campaign."

The company has also filed a $25 million lawsuit against the company that created this advertising campaign. They want to recoup some of the losses they have sustained to their reputation due to the campaign and its after-effects. No matter what the bottom line is with this story, it is bizarre and unfortunate that any company at any time would think it was okay to move forward with a campaign like this.

The public does not agree that this campaign was okay, and they are being very vocal about their displeasure with the company and the campaign over this, and they should be. It is about time that everyday people had their voices heard on something as serious as this.
