The resident of Simi Valley, California was arrested on June 8 outside of the SCOTUS justice's home in a Maryland suburb of Washington, D.C. after making violent threats toward Kavanaugh's life. According to an FBI affidavit, Roske was carrying a suitcase armed with a Glock-17 pistol, two magazine clips, a speed loader, a tactical knife, pepper spray, zip ties, a hammer, screwdriver, nail punch and a crowbar.
After flying from California to Washington D.C., Roske drove to Kavanaugh's home with the single intent to "kill Kavanaugh" and then himself, court documents reveal. Roske called 911 detailing the threats which led to his arrest.

Speaking with detectives at the Montgomery County Police Department Second District Precinct, Roske announced that "he was upset about the leak of a recent Supreme Court draft decision about the right to abortion as well as the recent school shooting in Uvalde, Texas," the affidavit declared.

"Roske stated that he began thinking about how to give his life a purpose and decided that he would kill the Supreme Court Justice," according to the affidavit.

If convicted, Roske faces a maximum sentence to life in prison. His trial is set to start on August 23.
