Rumors are swirling that Congress is reviewing the process to confirm a new vice president. This comes as the White House defends Vice President Kamala Harris' role in the administration, hours before failing to introduce her during the infrastructure ceremony.

The latest rumor stems from an email by an unnamed source to Fox News chief congressional correspondent Chad Pergram to familiarize himself with the process in the House and Senate.

The email was sent a few weeks ago, before the most recent developments, the reporter should "start to familiarize" himself "with the confirmation process not just in the Senate, but in the House, for a vice president," Fox News reported.

"I was very surprised to get that very cryptic email just a few weeks ago," Pergram told "Special Report" anchor Bret Baier's "All-Star Panel Podcast" on Fox News Radio.

His report also came on Fox News primetime program, albeit admitting there is no news to report about Harris' status in the White House beyond press secretary Jen Psaki's tweet Sunday in support of the vice president amid speculation of a rift between her and President Joe Biden.

The Biden administration's frustrations are expanding way beyond the border crisis, ongoing coronavirus pandemic, spiking inflation, Afghanistan missteps, and supply-chain woes.

Now, even CNN is piling on with sources saying there is a rift between President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

The report struck a chord, as White House press secretary Jen Psaki tweeted Sunday night:

At the heart of the CNN report of the rift are sources suggesting neither side is content with the White House dynamic, setting up speculation about the future and the 2024 presidential election cycle

"The exasperation runs both ways," according to CNN, which interviewed "nearly three dozen former and current Harris aides, administration officials, Democratic operatives, donors and outside advisers."

"Many in the vice president's circle fume that she's not being adequately prepared or positioned, and instead is being sidelined," the report continued. "The vice president herself has told several confidants she feels constrained in what she's able to do politically. And those around her remain wary of even hinting at future political ambitions, with Biden's team highly attuned to signs of disloyalty, particularly from the vice president."
