Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, the Hawaii Democrat, suggested that there is a bigger problem in politics than partisanship.

The Hawaii Democrat, who ran for president in 2020, explained what she termed the "establishment elite" and the legacy media's support of it on Friday. Gabbard has long been against authoritarianism.

"This is a bigger problem than Democrats or Republicans," Gabbard said. "This is about the establishment elite trying to hold on to their power and continue to increase it, and the mainstream media is a powerful arm of that establishment elite."

Noting that she didn't watch President Joe Biden's town hall in full on Thursday, Gabbard said his administration isn't making any "serious" endeavors at humane leadership.p>

"It comes down to this," she said on Fox News. "You're either with them, agreeing with them, supporting them, carrying the water for them, or you're not. You're either part of their team, or you're not."

The elite will "censor," "target," and "demonize" those who they see as a "threat to their power," Gabbard said.

It is not clear whether Gabbard will run for office again in 2024.

During "Justice with Judge Jeanine" on Saturday, she slammed Biden's immigration policies. "The Biden-Harris administration has an open-door policy at the borders," the Hawaii Democrat said. "The reality is that people are being let in and crossing the border every single day."

Under the Biden administration, encounters between Border Patrol and illegal immigrants have increased substantially. There were over 200,000 encounters in August, up more than 300 percent from the same month in 2020.

"Actions speak louder and louder than words," Gabbard said. "[I]t doesn't matter how many times Secretary [Antony] Blinken or Kamala Harris or anyone from the administration says, you know, don't come across the border."

"These drug cartels, these human traffickers, are incredibly emboldened to the point where they feel that they can do this without consequence, where they feel they can continue profiting off of trafficking people across these borders that are essentially open … The fact is that the open-door policy that this administration has in place is posing a humanitarian crisis and is creating a humanitarian crisis, as well as a very serious security threat for our country," the former lawmaker said.

Gabbard went on to accuse Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas of openly misleading Congress.

She said, "The Department of Homeland Security secretary recently told Congress: 'Our borders are secure.' This is what he said."

Gabbard argued that when "bold-faced" lies like that are being told to the American public, they lose trust in their government and leaders.

"The faith and trust that the American people need to have in our leaders is dropping every day," she said.
